Every country has its staple transport, something unpretentious that outside of cities keeps people and objects moving. For Japan its the 4WD Subaru Sambar and other Kei light trucks, super light, high mileage (40+ MGP), can be treated like shit and still performs. Refreshing after the over the top bullshit that drives sales in the 4WD market in the US.

On some of the smaller islands this is the largest vehicle on the road.
