Connected Kiosks

Tokyo: dummy

It’s that time of the year again – where I take a month off from travel to apply for a new passport (or in this case, two).

The rules for appropriate ID card photos vary by country and purpose – – many people have their application delayed because the headshot is not-quite-meeting-the-standards. To tackle this the Photo Express kiosk includes a novel connectivity feature in that it sends the photos to a remote person/server who verifies the shot is valid for the identity card that you’ve selected – in this case a European passport. The flow needs a bit of work, but its an interesting value add.
