A few days up in Ganzi Tibet Autonomous Prefecture དཀར་མཛེས་བོད་རིགས་རང་སྐྱོང་ཁུལ་, one of the more remote parts of Sichuan province, prior to starting a project in Chengdu. It requires a few days to acclimatise to the altitude – this trip oscillated between 3,300 and 4,700 meters, thank-you Diamox.
Managed to take in a rather strenuous trek around ཉིན་རྟེན་, Nyiden and had an opportunity to test the D3 Raw prototype as a day pack. Worked surprisingly well carrying the usual accoutrements: multiple layers, camera + lenses, cooking and survival gear (it was hi-alt after all) about ~9kg in total. I say “surprising” because first and foremost the D3 is designed as an duffel and being able to convert it to a day-pack is a distant, tertiary concern. More prototypes should be rolling out of the workshop in the very near future. Added bonus of being here is taking in the stunning mountain textures from rock formations to alpine vistas to flora.
The city inspires, but mountains never tire.
