Digital Signage Evolved

Haneda: signage evolved

Nicely understated details in this digital signage at Haneda Airport – stores are listed on a static display with currently closed stores grayed out – photo was taken in an early hours stopover en route to the Chinese hinterlands, hence a bunch of stores are shown as closed. All to often an investment in digital signage leads to a visual assault – a desire to show off the technological prowess.

For any given country/context: the pervasiveness of displays (location, size, usage norms); the investment required to install/run; the level of ‘display’ literacy.
