It might not look like it but the gent in blue jeans (above) is a human ATM, an agent that is sufficiently (but not overly) trusted to be the conduit for cash and credit flowing into and out of the operator network.
That the agent is walking the isles of this market is a testament to the dynamics of the marketplace – a trader that is not at their stall selling is losing revenue, the reality is that most agents have a static pitch that is set up in part to service regular customers (below). But as a rule of thumb – when infrastructure is light enough to be pocketable or transportable the mobility it enables sets a new local benchmark for consumer convenience.
