Today’s Office: Family Ties

Kyoto: rest stop

A few days catching up with family in Kyoto.

Its tough being ~6 weeks away from a newish born, but if its going to somehow work this is the city that where you want to be: very walkable more decent cafe’s than you shake a tin of freshly ground coffee at; and all the usual Japanisms – from melt-in-the-mouth sushi to tatami ryokan rooms for the little one.

Still mentally try to process the research in Afghanistan, it’ll catch up somewhere along the line. Shanghai bound today, a few days to launderise life then off to SF/Napa Valley for a creative retreat of sorts.

Then home.

Or at least the home from home.
