Forecourt Norms

Kyoto: petrol station layout

The default petrol station in Japan includes service – you roll up and a crew pumps/checks and wipes for an all inclusive price, which is a slight premium from the few self-service stations. As a consequence of using trained labour it is possible to have a different forecourt layout to most countries – most notably the air and petrol pumps are pulled down from the garage roof – enabling a wider varieties of pull-in-and-park options.
